The Making of Igloos

What's up Guys and Gals, Crzypengu here with the latest updates. Yesterday there was a brand new article but up on the website that shows off how Igloos were made.

"Hi penguin pals,"

"Bringing igloos to Club Penguin Island was the dream since the very beginning, and we were incredibly hyped to make it a reality in the 1.8 update! Our team worked tirelessly to make them fun, interactive, customizable, and special down to the very last detail––a penguin’s home is its sanctuary, after all!"

"We thought it would be fun to give you all a look into our igloo creative process with some authentic, never-before-seen concept art! Let’s start from the beginning, shall we?"

Step One: Thumbnail Sketch

"Our artists kick off the creative process with a quick “thumbnail” drawing, which will be used to give a general idea of what their vision is and what they will need to move forward!"

Step Two: Whitebox

"When it comes to more complex creations like igloos, our artists will make a “whitebox” version so that the concept has the right dimensions for a penguin. Consider this a 3D sketch!"

Step Three: Refined Sketch

"This is just a clearer and more detailed sketch, based off the dimensions of the whitebox."

Step Four: Color Concept

"We’re almost there! This is the final stage of the concept art before it goes on to a 3D artist!"

Step Five: Final Model

"Annnnd, wah-lah! Once a 3D artist has modeled and textured the color concept, you get the final model! It is now ready to be imported into the game."

"We hope you enjoyed learning more about this process, penguin pals! If you’d like to see more concept art in the future, let us know in the comments!"

Waddle On

These concept arts are pretty cool and I am pretty glad to see how stuff behind the scenes works. Anyways what do you all think of articles from the CP Team like this? Please leave your thoughts down below and until next time this is Crzypengu saying Waddle On!
